I needed the sound of someone trapped in a mine and desperately trying to dig his way out. I used a metal tray with gravel, on top of a doormat, all on top of a plastic garden chest, then scraped at gravel with 2 large stones.

This is a recording i made of the waves coming into the shore at sunset, on lake mendota in madison, wi. The recording is made with a f1sp field recorder & shotgun mic. This is one of the first recordings i have made with it.

Various guitars strings plucked above the nut. This gives a sound we are trained to associate with horror films. Useful sounds for sound processing. There was a swarm of annoying motorcyclists - for which i apologise. I suppose if you are a good sound designer, those sounds might also be useful.

This was a recording of me just walking up to my door. I hit my parent's car with my cane, and you can hear sounds of me pulling out my key as i approach the door. Planes are also descending overhead.

A bird was singing close to a chimney early in the morning. I had my recording gear ready to go. It took quit a bit of processing (= noise-removal & filtering) to get rid of rubbish. I added a slight reverb to it. The recording is made in zoetermeer, a city close to the hague.

A drone sound i created using a dsi mopho, recorded in logic. I didn't use any fx. It's a filter sweep with some resonance and lfo 1 is modulating pan position.

I recorded these because i neeeded a sound when a player slices a metal object. But it can be used for cooking sounds etc. As well obviously. The later ones are useful for creating loops and the impact usually sounds quite different which offers some needed variation. You can try to add some crackling fire sound if you need it to sound more powerful. There is no need to credit me but i would be happy if you tell me here if you use it and what for :).

I recorded this for an animated sequence i was doing that involved a bucket truck. I recorded a truck parked in a garage starting its motor, pulling out of the building, driving back into the building, stopping, hitting the air brakes and idling, backing up with backing beeps, idling again, and then honking its horn while pulling back out of the building. The truck circles the building again, pulls back in, hits the air brakes one more time and then cuts the motor.

I made a waveshaper in the js audio language that applies random math operations to the signal. The original signal is liteon's (of reaper forums) lorenz attractor synth, which is then run through the waveshaper, then that signal controls the pitch of a soundwave. Later on i waveshape the resulting soundwave but i don't think it has the best results (dc offset city). A lot of the cooler sounds/series of pitches are made by changing the number of operations on the fly, or shuffling a new set of operations for the waveshaper to use.

I took the groovy part from zagi2's sound fata morgana (mirage) 3. Wavhttps://www. Freesound. Org/people/zagi2/sounds/369208/it's 2 bars. Cut it up in 8 parts. Call them 1 to 8. I let excel randomize function give me 16 numbers between 1 and 8. Then i merge my parts in that order. Result an 8 bar loop. Done in audacity. Did not have to use number 1.

All this time i´ve been doing a ton of drum samples from almost every edm subgenre, so, i took a transient from a house club kick and a sub bass i made by miself, compressed the hell out of them, distorted the sub bass and added the special sauce, the izotope ozone 8 to make a cool jungle terror kick. Note: you can expect from now seeing drum sampples in this page!!!.

I bring the uoki-toki polivoks vcf to self-oscillation and tune the vcf to ca 270hz too. I let the lfo sweep the frequency. Cv1 pot at ca 70%. What happens. . .

After spending a weekend putting together a giant wardrobe (from everyones favourite swedish furniture store) for my girlfriend i thought i should reward myself by making some recordings of it. This is a close mic recording of one of the internal draws. For this recording i used my sennheiser mkh416 going into a sound devices mp-1 preamp and recorded to a tascam dr-680.

Two sennheiser g3 transmitters were set for the same frequency; one of them was transmitting a previous interference recording from my macbook p2 phone output, the other one had no input;the receptor was connected to loudspeakers; the interference would vary as i moved each transmitter around. I recorded the loudpeakers output through the macbook built-in microphone, on audacity. This is a specially noisy part i exported. Not a pretty sound, but may be useful.

I took the sound "arpasauro atmo" from thalamus_lab and stretched it + fading in and out, because i needed a longer version. I just love the atmosphere it creates! the gong at the beginning transmuted into some kind of a mystical choir and at the end the short squeaking turned into some kind of a slow door groan. . This recording was taken in the edinburgh cbd during the fringe festival in august 2022 in the early evening, around 7pm. I like it because it gives an idea of the unusual way that sounds travel in that city. I could never figure out the reason for it, but it was noticeable to me the whole time i was there. If anyone knows the reason please post it in the comments. The recording was made with the inbuilt stereo microphones of a zoom h5 portable recorder.

I mounted the mic inside and on top of the car and drove trough the city, recording some ambulance, traffic, and a scooter that was tooting, later i turned of engine, opened and closed the car door and startet the engine, maybe you find it useful, let me know :). This started out as a good idea for one of my projects but began to have a life of it's own as i rolled up my sleeves and fussed over every detail. As you will hear, this sound file/track embraces panning like their is no tomorrow. You should be able to fold your sounds into it. Either snaking through it with your own panning sounds, or laying your sounds straight down the middle. - you should find several looping points within the 2:28 runtime. Most of the sounds i upload are from songs where i have lost my direction. In sharing them here, i hope someone can pick them up and make them part of something beautiful. A heartbeat sound i created. Fairly consistent through most of it, and then speeds up into heart-attack mode about 30 seconds from the end. To make it, i took a kick-drum sample and a snare-drum sample, and made a pattern of kick-snare, kick-snare, kick-snare, over and over. I then eq'd them to be less distinct and drum-like, added tape saturation to increase the low-end thumping, a small chorus effect and some compression to get rid of the drums' attack. . . Basically just over-processed the hell out of it. Then i used a plugin called wok m-st to get a fake hard-panned stereo effect. My goal was to make it sound like your heartbeat sounds in your ears when you've been running too fast for too long. I think it sounds cool.

So yeah i decided to do an impression of @reitanna 's character annatier. And i did one of her lines from her reitanna fictions called annatier's descent and all of this was edited and recorded on audacity and annatier rightfully belongs to reitanna.

An sort of old sound i've made before then. I believe i generated brown noise in goldwave, then played around with the effects. It's a nice sound design for electric caves.

To create this sound i stabbed an apple with a pair of scissors in my bedroom to replicate the sound of someone being stabbed. To record i used my sontronics stc-10 microphone and my audiobox interface running pro tools from my mac at 48khz, 16 bit.

I set my mics up just in time to catch this loud thunder crash during a recording session. I aimed a stereo-matched pair of akg 451s out the window in an x-y configuration and ran them into a universal audio 2-610 preamp. There are no effects at all.
