Violet aka purple noise power density increases 6 db per octave with increasing frequency over the frequency range. Recorded on marantz pmd661 with rode ntg-2. While working on a project i saw a man operating a machine with tank-treads designed for lifting wheelchairs up and down stairs. I took him aside and asked if i could record the internal motors and servos working.

This is a sound made to represent an abstract mass of people. It is mostly made with 100 blips made from using a phasor as an oscilator, so basically a saw tooth. There is some snippets of voice thrown in too. This sample is public domain, ignore the cc license.

Digital noise made from raw binary files extracted from hdd with hexplorer using raw import function in audacity. Files were 4, each made from 200 sectors. I modified each sound using filters and joined them together to make longer looping example. Good to use in a game or 3d video animation as background ambient noise. Audacity and hexplorer are freeware and you can make similar job with them. . .

It is a looping metallic droning sound made by my ceiling fan as it just started and slowly the as the speed of fan increases, the sound also revs up.
