Five rakes of a large wind chime recorded in the studio. I was producing a track for a singer / songwriter who has a beach type song and we needed some effects to add to the atmosphere and wind chimes was one of a few. This is a clean recording. You can use this in all kinds of outdoor samples etc. I recorded five passes for a few different chimes. This recording is unprocessed and has not been edited. A peaceful "scene" of winter birds foraging in a large thicket of wild blackberry brambles. Among the birds that you hear, juncoes, and the beautiful little white-crowned sparrow -- the white-crown's song -- towards the end of this recording - is more melodic that his neighbors. Recorded on christmas day of 2015 in a beautiful abandoned farm field which provides great habitat and food for the midwest's winter visitors. Recording made on a cloudy 40-degree day with a sony pcm-m10.

Harp player from gambia, africa playing the chora, a typical harp used in gambia or senegal, in western africa, by the so called "griot", a singer, storyteller, singing songs and stories, thus beeing part of the oral tradition of his country and people. The recording was made during the berlin carnival of cultures in the summer of 2011, the harp player and the drummer (djembe) were sitting among the crowd of listeners open air at the bluecher platz. I created this instrumental while i was messing around on audacity one day and i actually used it to record a song called "erbie bowser" feel free to look it up on youtube. The instrumental includes whistles, claps and a voice loop all performed by myself. The only un-authentic part added was a risset drum. Feel free to use this for whatever i request that you give me credit if you chose to do so.

This song is about a buddhist who returns to the monastery, where he was abbot centuries before (in a previous life). While walking along the path with torches, the memories come to the surface. First, it is difficult to see it without understanding it. After a while he can let it come to him, without exercising control. As a result, he learns the life lessons that he was not yet ready for. Through the light at the end of the path he experiences what enlightenment is:"dare to expose everything without judgment and learn from it to become more loving instead of always needing control".

I recently contributed a track to a triple lp set of krautrock cover versions ("head music 2", released by fruits de mer records, december 2020). The song i chose to cover was kraftwerk's "autobahn". If you know the track, you'll know that it uses synthesised traffic sounds alongside recordings of the same. On my version, i achieved these in three ways:. 1) i downloaded some public domain traffic sound effects from elsewhere here on freesound. Org (thanks, guys!). 2) i got in my car with my zoom recorder and made my own recordings of the engine starting, stopping, etc. 3) i made my own sound effects using virtual synths and effects in ableton live 10. This particular sound falls into the third category. Let me stress that while the song "autobahn" is copyrighted, these are isolated sound effects and are not covered by copyright. I'm making them available here under a public domain licence. If you download and use any of these samples, please let me know in the comments what you did with them. It's not compulsory but it would be interesting to know what people did with these sounds.

This particular recording was taken a bit further back from the fountains to try and achieve a more ambient sound, capturing bird song, light winds, distant traffic and park keeper activity.
